Regulate yourself

Genetically Speaking

Humans thrive in groups. We draw strength and motivation from our tribe. Having freedom to do what we want & live alone is a new concept ~500 years.

Alone is hard

Sitting alone and thinking for finding answers vs speaking with your close friends / therapy session is vastly different. Unless prompted with a structure (self IFS sessions), it's very hard to gain that aha moment we get after a long call with our tribe.

How counter intuitive it is - If you “Really” want to see what’s happening inside, talk about it with someone close who knows and gets you rather than thinking alone. We often need someone to talk to and this need gave rise to the creation of gods and statues, like Jesus in Christianity or statues in temples.

Support Systems

In these systems, we feel ourselves. Ultimate "self" can come out and have a meet with our parts! We see what's happening in our internal world. Space where you can share what you're doing to you without judgment, feel your emotions while expressing them & getting 2-3 layer deep questions on whys so you can find the root cause, gain clarity & direction. It remind us of our goals, where are we & help us stay on track.

My Personal Journey

Incredibly grateful to my therapist, my partner Han, my mom, brother and my tribe of friends with whom I have a monthly calendar. This reminds me to get 1-2 moments of reflection every week.

Okay to cut people you're not vibing

If you're drained of energy after a call, they aren't your tribe (at that time). Find out what changed or why this is happening—generally, when one of the two is playing vertical games or they aren't themselves.

Maintenance

Think of any specific topic that's bothering you that you wanna explore. Give feedback if you didn't like anything (say, if they were attacking you personally over something). Be true to you & be yourself! Remember to be your "Prime" over the call.

Stop looking for help & help the other

Happiness comes from being of use to someone! That's it.
